Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday we carved our family pumpkin. Elijah didn't want as much to do with it this year.

Papa carves the opening...

Elijah is helping me take out the insides...

Nope, too weird...

Elijah is done helping...

This is what the boys did while I was busy scraping out the insides...

The finished product...

Look familiar...

We had a great time...Happy Halloween!

"These are a few of my favorite things..."

They came to deliver the supplies for our roof today. I'm sure the man unloading it all thought we were so dumb. We sat out in the front yard and took pictures! It may seem strange at first, but when you have a 2 year old that LOVES big trucks and tractors you treat it like a parade!

"Mama! Big Truck, big truck!!"

A fork lift (or tractor as Elijah called it) in our very own drive way!

The object of his affection...

This is the face Elijah makes when he sees or hears something interesting. I think he was hearing the beeping that the truck makes when it backs up. It is my all time favorite expression...

And in case you're wondering what it looks like head on...

"Bye Bye, big truck" notice the sad expression...

Another favorite...racing.
Elijah talked Beau into racing around the backyard while I cooked dinner. It was a close race...

When they're done Elijah yells "More race, more race" and they're off again...

Well, busy day tomorrow...we have another followup with Beau's doctor, some errands, finish the Halloween costumes and Grant comes over. We have the Halloween Trunk or Treat Friday night so I should have more pics Saturday!

Elijah's Barnyard Birthday Bash

Well, the party was a success! Aimee was the official photographer (thanks Aimee!) and I ended up with over 100 pics! Here are some of the ones I picked from the bunch...

Look at all those presents!!!

The theme was obviously Barnyard. Here is the food table...

There was a bucket of chicken feed...

Chicken Fingers and Pigs in the Blanket...

Cow patties...

There was also a veggie tray, beans, and potato salad.

The Cupcakes...

Pig, sheep and cow cupcakes...

Drinks were outside in a wheel barrel...(root beer, cream soda, lemonade and water)

We had hay bales to sit on...

The farm animals behaved nicely...

Do you see the rope tied to Elijah's swing? That was my dad's idea when he first put up the swing for us. That is so you can sit in a chair and read the paper/magazine and pull Elijah on the swing (since he likes to swing for hours). Everyone got a kick out of Dad's good idea!

Enjoying the beautiful weather as we ate lunch...

Elijah even got to taste Papa's cream soda!!

The guys had fun playing horse shoes...
And they enlisted Elijah as their retriever...

Maddie sure did love that tractor...

Mimi and Mamaw...

Grant...always grinning...

Time for Presents!! The weather was so great we even pulled all the gifts outside!...

Shirt from Alaska from Jannie and Papa Larry. Elijah is saying "Moose!"

"Big Cruck, Big Cruck" (That's how Elijah says 'Big Truck') He loves to point them out on the highway...

Bear ears and paws from Pawpaw and Juju (also from Alaska)...

Elijah got tons of gifts...Thanks everyone!

Time for Cupcakes!!

"Happy Birthday to you..."

"Mmmm, Thank you Mama"

Apparently the party tired a few people out...

We had a great time!! Wish you all could have been here! Now I have to start planning for next year!! :)

In other news:

Beau went to get Elijah this morning and noticed he had broken off a piece of the wooden blind in his room. Its right by his bed and he always had pulled on it to look out the window after he wakes up. So Beau brought Elijah out to me and this happens...

Elijah: Morning Mama!

Me: Morning Elijah

Beau: Elijah, tell Mama you broke the blind in your room.

Me: You did? You broke it...?

Elijah: No, it fell...

Me: Oh, it fell?

Elijah: Yes

Great! Now we have a little liar on our hands!

We went to the doctor today. Elijah and I heard the baby's heartbeat! We also made the appt to have our Sonogram just before Thanksgiving!

Please be thinking of Beau. He is taking a couple of kids from the youth group to visit Harding in Arkansas (where they think they want to go to college) for a Junior Visit Weekend. It is about an 8-9 hour drive. They leave in the morning and return on Sunday. Please pray for their safety.
