A Walk in the Park

I didn't end up having to go into work today so this morning we went and did a little shopping. The boys dropped me off at the mall so I could get some much-needed clothes (read: If I tell you a secret...promise you won't tell) and they went and did some landscaping shopping. After that we went to a park close to the mall and had lunch. It is such a pretty "April" day today and we really enjoyed it...

Having some lunch...

Feeling the wind in his too-long hair...

He's not growling...he's actually saying "cheese"...

30 Weeks

Last night we finally went to Gary and Aimee's for our Christmas get-together...I know! While they were giving Grant his bath we decided to take a belly shot. Sorry it seems kinda fuzzy...I think it was glaring off the white wall behind me. Anyway, also notice I got my hair cut yesterday. I took myself to the MD on Thursday because I was having some unusual symptoms and you get a little nervous when you're this close to the due date. Everything appears fine and I was sent home to lay on the couch (my favorite dr's order so far). That's all for now...

If I tell you a secret...promise you won't tell?

Well, funny thing yesterday...I went to church (not the funny part) and after lunch I went back to church for a baby shower. At the shower a lady (who always sits rows behind us) came up to me and said "I'm glad you're finally showing! I was thinking it is about time for you to be showing." My mouth just dropped open and the only thing I could say is "what?" She said, "yeah...I was looking at you from behind at church this morning and thinking you're not showing at all and now I see you really are" I went on to explain..."oh, that's because I've gained so much weight and my back side is so wide now it just blocks the view of my belly!" Then I said, "if I tell you a secret, promise you won't tell? I couldn't find a shirt to go under my cardigan for church this morning so I ended up just having to put on a bra and wear my black pajama shirt!" I really do have to go buy some new maternity clothes. Anyway, I'll think about possibly posting another belly shot some time soon, but it will have to be on a day I'm feeling really good about myself. I am working out though...I've been going to the gym twice a week with Aimee. So there...

Funny Elijah story:
His new favorite word is "delicious". I made brownies for some one the other day and let him lick the spoon. He would take a lick and say, "Mmmm Mama, tastes delicious!" Then a day or so later I was changing his dirty diaper and I dropped it in the trash. He leans over, takes a big sniff of the trash and says, "Mmmm, smells delicious" So I have learned one of two things:
1. He thinks his poop does smell like roses
2. My cooking sucks and I need to really work on it.

Fit Kids

Today I took Elijah to a new class at the YMCA. (new for him, not the Y) Its called Fit Kids and you have to be at least 2 to be in the class, but its usually a little older. He loved it! The instructor said he did really well for his first time. I did notice, however that we have to work on knowing when its his turn and waiting on some one else to go. He followed instructions very well though. I have a video, but can't get it uploaded yet...I'll post it when I can. Here are some pics though...(they aren't very good because I had to sit outside and take the pictures thru the window)

Getting into position...

Reach!!!

Another thing we apparently need to work on are our abs!

I took a lot more video than pictures so, like I said, I'm still working on getting it to upload.

Us lately...

Well, I got my computer back!! Yeah!! I can finally blog. Just a few pics from this week...

Elijah hiding from me...

Elijah yelling "surprise" when I find him...

Beau and Elijah chillin' in front of the tv before bed...

Elijah came up to me the other day and asked me to "take a cheese". I asked him what he wanted to do and he just stood there (it looked like a mug shot) so I got him to take another one. This time he wanted to show his muscles. I wish you could hear the grunting going on as he does this...

Then he wanted to take a picture with me...(this is after breakfast/pre makeup)

Then he wanted to take a silly cheese...

Aimee came over on Wednesday and we were going to start painting Elijah's big boy room. This is what we started with (I forgot to take a 'before' shot before we removed all the furniture)...

After 2 hours and taking care of 2 kids this is where we got...

Aren't you impressed? We were! We completely finished painting. Yesterday Beau helped me hang the curtain rod and curtains, move the bed and bring in the toy box. Its really coming together and Elijah already calls it his big boy room.
In other Elijah news: He pooped in the potty today! Granted he did poop in the floor of his room first and come tell me (he was naked after our shower) then we rushed to the bathroom to "finish" and he did one tiny little booger of a poop. We didn't care...we acted like he had just been elected president and gave him some M&M's. That's progress people!
In Sadie news: Elijah and I went to the doctor on Thursday for my glucose tolerance test. We also saw the nurse practitioner who assured me I am not too fat even though I gained another 5 lbs. Aimee says that's pretty good considering it spanned the 4 weeks over the holidays and most non-pregnant people gain more than that over the holidays. Always a silver lining. Just so you know...my fundus is measuring exactly where it should be (27 cm). I am due back in 3 weeks for another check up and I can have another ultrasound so that should be fun.
My boys are both finally well...Sadie and I managed to get away without getting sick at all over the holidays!! Everything else is great. Hope all is well with you. Love to all!!

Sorry guys...

Well, sorry its been so long. Our computer is sick! Beau is taking it to the hospital tomorrow, hopefully. In the mean time if he brings home his computer I may be able to blog with some pics soon. We had a long week. I had to work 4 days this week!! I never work that much...I just kept telling myself "overtime, overtime, overtime!" I had to take Elijah to the doctor for a swollen eye which I figured meant a raging ear infection (and I was right) he is now on antibiotics. Beau finally got in to see a doctor and he is also on antibiotics. I woke up with a sore throat a few mornings, but it passed and so Sadie and I are still well. Then we had a retreat all weekend. I work the next couple of days so check back in a few days for a new post! Love to all!

Christmas in Stephenville

The Saturday after Christmas we left Rosebud for Stephenville. Saturday night we opened presents with my family and had a great time...

Elijah got a train set which he LOVED. The only bad thing was, it was the first thing he opened and we took it in the next room to set it up. For the rest of the evening we had a hard time getting Elijah to come back in and open more gifts. He wanted to stay with his trains. He went around all weekend yelling "choo choo, all aboard!" It was really cute.

Mom and Dad got Elijah a new toybox for his soon-to-come big boy room. Don't you just love it! Elijah sure did. He was already sorting things in the drawers...
The funniest part of the evening...Elijah was playing with his toy box. Brooklyn had just opened her new baby doll (and wearing the tutu I got her). She decided to use Elijah's toy box for a changing table. Well, does the look on Elijah's face tell you what he thought of that idea?

Sunday we went to church and Elijah wanted to wear his boots. It was really cute. When we got home Zac thought Elijah might feel more comfortable dressed like Pawpaw...this is what we got. Elijah acting silly...

Too cute. The only bad thing...Elijah was sick most of the trip. We had a great time everywhere we went, but its always nice to be back home! Thank you to everyone who spoiled us this Christmas holiday!! We love you all!

Christmas in Rosebud

Christmas afternoon we drove to Rosebud. That evening we opened presents with Mimi, Pepaw, Crystal and Memaw (Brad, Amy and Brad had already left). We had a great time. Elijah loved opening more presents!

He's saying "trucks" as in big trucks in the puzzle, in this pic...

Helping Pepaw open his gift...

Then trying to "hide" in the box...

He got a tent truck from Mimi and Pepaw...

We left for Stephenville on Saturday, but came back to Rosebud on Tuesday, I know...a little confusing, but it works for us!
Elijah got to play with a old race car track...

Memaw even got down in the floor to play with Elijah...
Elijah is ready for Brooklyn to get up and play...

He got a helmet from Uncle Brad's team...

Amy and I got together the Tuesday before Christmas to have the kids' picture taken for a gift for Mimi and Memaw. It was a lot of work, but it turned out great!!

Christmas 2008

Christmas Eve we put out milk and cookies for Santa...

These pics are actually of earlier that evening of Christmas Eve. We decided to let Elijah open presents from friends and family that we had received so he wouldn't be overwhelmed on Christmas morning. When he came out from his bath I had some presents for him...

We quickly found out he LOVES to open presents...who doesn't?

Thanks to Bibby, JoCarol, The Davenports, The Flores Family, and The Andrews Family for all the great gifts! Elijah had a blast. Elijah was so excited when he went to bed. He kept saying, "Santa come when I wake up?" When we went in to get him in the morning he was actually still sleeping! We woke him up and told him Santa came. He rushed out to see the cookies gone and all the gifts under the tree. We were having so much fun we didn't take any pics, but we got it all on the video camera. It was a great morning. After presents we had breakfast, packed up and headed to Rosebud.
