Moving on up (or around)...

Quick note (I'm at work):

I can officially feel the baby moving! Its just barely there, but its there! We go to the Dr on Wednesday and then just a few more weeks until we find out what it is! Just so excited and wanted to share!

I will try to post pics from the party on Wednesday.

"Pukins!!"

I found a pumpkin patch in Pearland so this morning Aimee and I took the boys. I will say Grant had many more cute pics than Elijah. I remember when I could get Elijah to sit still and pose and grin. It was great. Those days are over. Now if I get a picture of Elijah he has his "I'm discovering stuff" look on his face or he is yelling for me to stop taking pictures. Either way, I still point and click. He's just going to have to learn to deal with it. Here are some of the shots I got...

"How long do I have to sit on this stupid hay?"

"Yeah, I'm looking at the camera"

"How much longer to I have to sit here?"

"Vrrmm, vrrmm..."

"Hold on, I gotta put this in reverse"

"I don't care how loud you yell, Mama, I will NOT look at that camera"

"How long till I can get back on that tractor?"

Looks like a good place to sit and rest...

Grant...always grinning!

"Which one do I want..."

"Just put this one back..."

"Gottcha!"

"I like this one!"

If you're wondering how I got him to smile in these pictures...I was tickling him...

Our boys...being very uncooperative...

"Okay, I'm tired, can we go home now"

We did end up with the pumpkin you see in the last picture. He has carried it around all day. Besides the time he threw a pumpkin at Grant and ran out in front of a car we had a pretty good time. Better get back to party prep!!

2 Year Check-Up

Elijah and I started off the day with a few errands. One stop was Toys R Us. He is an official member of Geoffrey's Birthday Club so when he showed up he got a crown and a balloon. He loved it. He wore the crown for the rest of the day. Then off to the Dr's office. Here are the stats:

Height: 36 inches ( 90%)
Weight: 25 pounds (18%)
Head: 19 inches (85%)

We we're still tall and thin. I take that as a good thing. The doctor thought he was fine. Elijah had to get his blood drawn (standard for 2 year check up) and it proved his runny nose and crankiness is due to a cold. He also had to get 2 shots! A vaccine and a flu shot! OUCH!! He was not happy about that, but he got a Dora sticker and the world was good again. I didn't have my camera at the Dr office which was too bad because I know you would have loved to see him stripped to his diaper with just his birthday crown on. It was great. Well, since I didn't have my camera you'll just have to settle for a few pics I took the other day of Elijah coming in from playing outside.

No, that's not stuff on the camera lens...its all dirt! I asked what he was doing outside to which he replied, "digging". Great.

We are super busy (and stressed - just me) getting ready for the party. Last night I woke up and it was storming. I knew I needed to be worried about it raining so hard, but I couldn't think of why. I thought..."did I leave a window open?"..."no"...did we leave a toy outside?....no...hmmm...can't think of why its so bad that its raining. Then around 5 Beau jumps out of bed. He figured it out. We don't have a roof!! He could hear the dripping in the bathroom. He ran up to the attic to do as much damage control as possible. We get our new roof next week! Great!

Belly Shots...13 1/2 Weeks

Well, I officially can't button my pants any more....any of them. So we've moved into maternity pants. I thought you might like to see how I've slightly "popped" out.

Elijah wanted in on the action. He was on his way to bath time and took a picture with Mama...

We have a big day planned for tomorrow. Elijah is getting his 2 year pictures taken in the morning, then some birthday party errands and Beau's follow up Dr's appt. Hopefully I can blog more later!

A day with my boys...

Today I needed to run a few errands. Aimee was going to go with me, but backed out. It actually worked out for the best though!! I told Beau I didn't really want to go alone so he offered to go with me! We packed a picnic and left the house. We went to Target while Beau got a haircut, we went to Macy's to get Elijah an outfit for his 2 year pics, we went to Lowes to get some new plants for the yard, then we had a picnic at the park. It was great...we sat under a tree on our blanket and watched Elijah play on the playground. For the first little while he just walked around eating his PB&J and checking everything out. After he finished he went down the big circular slide over and over and over before we made him leave. We ran another errand then came home for naps before watching Zac's football game. We are just about to sit down to dinner for Potato Soup and Homemade Frenchbread! Beau went and rented a movie, what a great day!

This is the only pic I managed to get before my camera battery died...sorry.

A boy and his dog

Elijah wanted to play outside today. I was on the phone and went to the window to check on him. This is what I found....
Is that not the cutest picture of all time. It seems like it should be on a commercial for summertime. I just loved it.

Uh-oh, he heard me...gotta go.

Elijah playing in the pool. He was so excited to go swimming he wouldn't even take his diaper off. Notice the sagging. Oh, and yes, that's a blade of grass sticking out of his diaper. I used to ask myself how these things happen (where do you get grass in a swimming pool?) but now I have come to know he's a boy and these things just happen.

My mom called me a few days ago and said her work is doing a child's photo contest for a campaign at the hospital. It has something to do with noise level or something so the picture is supposed to be of the child saying ''shhh". Just before we left for church I snapped a few pics and this is what I got (not winning any contests here my friends).

I don't know what is up with smashing his lips, but I took about 15 pics and this is what they all looked like...

This is the best one I got and I think she's going to try and enter this one in the competition...

In other news: I went to my first Mom's Club meeting today. It was fun and I think Elijah and I are really going to enjoy it. Almost everything is for the kids and moms, but they do some stuff like Mom's Night Out. I'm excited! Aimee and Melissa are going to do it too!

Signs of a good big brother

I watch Grant on Thursday afternoons while Aimee goes to school. Yesterday Elijah was taking a nap (and by taking a nap I mean laying in his bed talking to himself for 2 hours) and after I fed Grant it was time for him to take a nap and for Elijah to get up. I put Grant down and went to get Elijah. Grant started crying. Elijah new exactly who it was (even though he was already in bed when Grant came over). Elijah started getting upset saying "Grant crying, Grant crying". I got Elijah out of bed and told him Grant needed a toy in his bed to help him not cry and take a nap. Elijah looked all over his room for a toy and we decided on his soft blue dog that he sleeps with. Elijah took it into Grant's room and put it in his bed and said "there Grant". We left and I pulled the door almost shut. Elijah ran into the living room and I went to do some laundry. Just a minute later I came down the hall and kept seeing Elijah running back and forth to Grants room. I walked back there (with camera, just in case) and this is what I found...

"If one toy helped, more should really help!"

Grant's bed after Elijah "helped".

Elijah loves Grant and always wants to help. I just keep thinking, if he loves his friend so much and is so interested in helping, how much more will it be with a little brother or sister? He is such a sweet boy and I know he will be a great Big Brother!
