Happy Birthday, Elijah!!

I've got a TON of pictures of my boy and his birthday, but for now just one will have to do. If anyone would have told 3 years ago that this boy...could bring me such joy I would have believed them (ha! tricked you). What I wouldn't have believed is just how much joy he would bring me! He makes us laugh every single day! I love this kid!
Happy Birthday Elijah! We love you!!!

An Animal Party!!

All week long Elijah told everyone he was having an animal party. Well, it finally happened yesterday. My parents let us use their house and it was great (a lot less prep on my part!) Maybe I'll start having all our parties there! Ha! Here are the pics from the weekend.
Friday night we walked down to Jannie's for a birthday dinner for my mom. I planned on taking pics, but only got this one taken of Sadie. We had to snuggle up because it was super chilly! I LOVE IT!!
Okay...on with the party. As you entered...

The little sack is one of the favors (animal cookies)...
The dining room was transformed into an animal zoo party!!
The "cake" was cupcakes we turned into animals. Thanks for all the help Katy!!
Do you see the Lions, Tigers, Bears (oh my), Monkeys and Zebras?

Jungle Juice = Lime Sherbert Punch...

Don't worry...the Rhino droppings were really Chocolate No-Bake Cookies!

Yumm...frog eyes...

Get it? Cheetah-Toes? I crack myself up!

The kids had a great time running around playing!

Mamaw and Sadie talking philosophy...
"Now Mamaw, you're going to come to my party in April, right?"...

Then we sang "Happy Birthday" to Elijah...

Got a little nervous when everyone started singing...

It took him a good 7 or 8 times to try and blow out the candle...

The first bite!!

Its a lot less messy the older he gets...

Having some Jungle Juice with a silly straw...

Our family...(man I just want to cry...I'm so Blessed. Thank you Lord for the blessing of my family).

Opening presents...

Sadie and Cale playing with the gifts (Cale is telling Sadie that a cow goes "Mooo")...

Doing the Animal Boogie Woogie Oogie...

Not 5 minutes down the road on the way home...

Guess it was a good party!

For your viewing pleasure...

Just a few pictures of the kiddos to (hopefully) bring a smile to your face.

Elijah goes to "Children's Church" every Sunday morning. At the end of the month all the children come back in to the auditorium at the end of the service to say their memory verse. I took a pic this last month. I know its dark, but look close, that's Elijah off to the side just doing his own thing...

I took this pic of Elijah when I went to check on him the other day during his nap. This is how he fell asleep...

Sadie and I went grocery shopping last week. I let her sit in the cart (instead of her carrier) for the first time. She had this wide eyed look the whole time...

I could gobble this girl...

Friday is Beau's day off and this past Friday was gorgeous so we took the kids to a local park by the river for the morning. Elijah and Beau looking at the turtles...

"Rock climbing"...

Elijah is just starting to get the idea of "pumping his legs" to make him swing...

My dunchy dunch (does anyone other than my mom say that?)...

This was fun. The equipment looked like a boat. I taught Elijah to stand on it with his arms out and yell "I'm the king of the world!!" It was too funny. I wish I had had the video camera!...

For lunch we went to Taco Bell (I know...high class...but we had coupons) and Elijah loves the 79 cent triple layer nachos...

Hope you have a great day!

Happy Half Birthday, Sadie!

My Sadie-baby is 6 months old today!! So hard to believe! She is my golden girl - the best baby I've ever been around! I love this girl so much...

Beau and I went on our first date last night since moving here. Janice and Frankie came and watched the kids (Thank you so much Mimi and Peepaw!!). We went to dinner (Thai food) and frozen yogurt and then The Drowsy Chaperone at Baylor's theater. It was so much fun. We had a blast...

Look what my girl can do! I don't know if Elijah was just lazy or if my girl is really gifted, but Elijah never really held his own bottle and Sadie's doing in already...

Happy Half Birthday, my girl...

National Day of Play

Saturday was the National Day of Play. We decided to go to the ranch. We actually left on Friday and Beau drove in from Dallas and met us there. It was us, Jon, Katy, Zac and Heather on Friday night. We put the kids down pretty close to their normal time, but we all stayed up until 2am!!! I was so tired!! I got into bed at 2, Sadie woke up at 3:45 to eat, which woke up Elijah. I finally got him back down around 5 and then again at 6, then woke up to him at 7:30 saying "Mama, the sun is up, you said I could get up when the sun is up". He went onto the front porch and "mooed" at every cow walking by then would yell "Mama, the cow's lookin at me!!" It would have been cuter and funnier if we weren't all so sleepy. They guys made a big breakfast and we had a great time enjoying each other's company.

I think Elijah enjoyed his breakfast!

I know it looks like an optical illusion, but Jon's legs really are that long...

After breakfast the guys also cleaned up. After unloading the dishwasher Jonathan realized the dishes had all been dirty!! After completely backtracking he is almost positive he got all the dirty dishes back into the dishwasher! Ha!

Late in the morning my parents showed up with Brooklyn, Cale, and Katy's parents. We had a great time visiting and eating burgers.

Brooklyn and Sadie...

Brooklyn pulling the boys in the wagon...

I think it was a little harder than she had planned...

Beau pulling the kids in the wagon...

Katy giving the kids a ride on the 4-wheeler...

Beau and Elijah riding Jon's horse, Grey....

Then they talked Jon into giving them another ride on the golf cart...

After lunch we headed down to the river. Mom and Sadie...

Cale had a blow out and we didn't have any diapers. We were a long way from the house and so he just went commando. I don't think he minded...
I know by the look on my mom's face she is tired of talking to me, but I promise that's not what she's thinking (I think)...

Sadie loved it...

Brooklyn and Elijah had a blast building sand castles...

All the guys (except Beau who had to head back early) swam in the river...

Zac was the Ferry...

So was the ranch relaxing? Just ask Sadie...
