Miss Maggie

I forgot I had these pictures and hadn't blogged them yet.  On Sadie's actual birthday (side note: Sadie says "actually" all. the. time. but it comes out "Ashwee"...too cute) we had an afternoon of fun.  Sadie was allowed to choose where she wanted to eat for lunch...no surprise she chose McDonalds.

When I asked her to say cheese...

Then we chose to take her to Build-A-Bear.  We have never done Build-A-Bear.  I was asking a friend who I know has done it if she thought it was worth the money and she really talked it up.  A day or two later while clipping my coupons I came across a $10 off coupon to the store that would expire the week after her birthday!  Perfect.  So after lunch we headed for the mall...

Sadie chose a bunny.  It took a little coaxing.  She was confused why it wasn't stuffed...she wanted the nice big fluffy one (the sample), but we talked her into it.

Headed to make our bunny...

Sadie was not a fan of the noise...

So big brother came to the rescue...

Testing her out to make sure she's fluffy and soft...

Then she had Sadie go thru this whole ceremony with the heart...rub it on your knee so she'll never "need" anything...

Rub it between your hands so she'll know you'll always give her a hand...

This went on and on...

Sadie was getting a kick out of it...

Next it was bath time (which was a little loud)...

She was glad Elijah was there to help...

The next day I took her to Toys R Us to pick out a gift.  (If you sign your child up at Toys R Us they get a $3 gift card for their birthday)...

They also get a crown and balloon while they shop.  (and if you get the right employee that day they will announce over the speaker that there is a special birthday girl in the store)...

Sadie chose bath color tablets for her gift.  If you don't have these they're really fun.  You drop a pellet in the tub and it turns the water that color.  Its nice because it won't stain.

We had a wonderful birthday with our precious Sadie.  I love the 3rd birthday...they seem to really get it for the first time!  Happy Birthday!

I forgot about Easter!

I forgot to post the picks from our Easter egg hunt at church. I set up lunch, devo and egg hung after church the week before Easter. We had a great turn out and the kids had a blast.

Of course Elijah took off and I couldn't keep up with him, but I was able to stay with Sadie...

I finally caught up with Elijah, but he'd already finished filling his basket!

I told him to go pretend he was picking up an egg so I could get a picture. He played along just perfectly! Ha!

Back to Sissy...

She and Maci decided they'd have more luck if they teamed up...

So proud of all her eggs...

Sadie's Minnie Birthday

My girl turned 3! She wanted a Minnie Mouse birthday party. Here's how it went...

The cake. It was lemon cake with lemon buttercream on top and strawberry with jam between the layers and a cream cheese frosting on bottom. Pretty yummy!

All the food was "Minnie" themed...

Yes, I made my own pinata! I am too cheap to spend $20 on something that's going to get torn up in a few minutes. It was really easy and cost maybe $3...maybe.

My birthday girl...who did not want to quit playing long enough to take a picture!

"Can I go play now?"...

The pinata was really funny. I had a dream a few nights before that Sadie hit it and it completely fell apart. Not so much. After each kid hit it about 3-4 times I finally had to take a pocket knife to it...let them hit it some more and then had to break it open! Ha! I guess I made it a little too well!
