Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

Yesterday the kids had their Annual Thanksgiving Feast at their preschool. I was signed up to help, but ended up spending Monday morning in bed and Monday evening in the ER so I wasn't able to help on Tuesday morning, but I was able to drag myself up there to sit with the kids while they ate.

Its really neat how the preschool does the feast. All the kids are assigned to bring something specific for the meal. Sadie brought a can of green beans and Elijah brought an apple. Elijah and the older kids get to actually help in the kitchen. They get to cut up the fruit and veggies (with plastic knifes). Elijah was so excited to show me the kiwi's he cut up!

But first thing's first. I made the kids shirts for Thanksgiving (and they will be wearing them a lot in the next few days!).

As soon as I walked in Sadie spotted me and wanted down right away! But we stuck a juice box in her mouth and she was back in business...

After the babies were off to nap time in came the big kids...

Saying their prayers. He had his little hand crossed and of course by the time I got my camera up he stopped...

I'm hoping his uncles don't see this. He was showing me what he's thankful for...
His teacher said they were all just looking around the room naming things they saw and her purse was on the table. However, he told me he's thankful for my purse because it has everything in it! Ha!

Bon Appetite!

Some one get the girl a tricycle!!

Since we gave Elijah his bike its been Sadie who has wanted to ride it the most. She is not scared at all. She just wants to ride. Today we were playing outside and Elijah wanted to ride his bike. We have the perfect driveway for it. He got all his gear on (more about that later) and started riding. Sadie was so upset! She wanted to ride.

The closest thing we have...
We never had a tricycle for Elijah. He never acted interested and didn't seem to get the pedaling part down.

Precious...

"Cheese!!!"...

After riding down, she would push it back up the "hill" and get back on...

Safety First!! He wants to have all his gear on to ride the bike.

Pushing it up the hill. Again.

Defeat. I was trying to help Sadie and he was asking me to help get him started, he was stuck. When I turned around...

So...if anyone out there is trying to come up with a Christmas present idea for Sadie...

Recycled Pumpkins

I love anything pumpkin. Anything. This year I decided to make my own pumpkin puree out of our Jack-O-Lantern and painted pumpkin. Since we had only carved our pumpkin a day before it was still usable.

I cut out the face, and cut up both pumpkins...

and into the oven for a few hours...

I even used the seeds...

After cooking the pumpkin I scooped the "meat" into food processor...

A few minutes later pumpkin+applesauce+cinnamon= one happy baby girl...

I froze a ton of puree, made muffins and am planning to use the rest of the puree that's in the fridge for Pumpkin Butter and Pumpkin Cranberry Bread. Mmmmm
