Camp JuPa - Day 3

Well, if you can see the name has been changed to Camp JuPa (Ju for Juju and Pa for Papaw). There are a lack of pics on Day 3 for a few reasons. Mom let Elijah sleep in (more sleep = better mood for Elijah), then she had a dentist appt and Brook and Ligy went to the neighbors, then Elijah took a long nap, then they left to meet us at Jon and Katy's.

Not sure what's going on here, but its the only pic of Elijah and proves he was there...

Thursday night everyone met at Jon and Katy's where we had a yummy meal - Thanks Katy! We spent the night and all had Day 4 together at the Dallas Aquarium. I'll post those pics later. I have to get back to packing for camp. We leave in 16 hours!

Camp Juju - Day 2

Okay, yesterday was Day 2 of Camp Juju. Day 2 apparently did not go as well as Day 1. Elijah was awakened a little too early yesterday morning which will just about cause the world to stop on its axis and makes for a boy in a very "bad mood". He gets in the worst mood when he's tired...I don't know where he gets it...Beau, I'm sure. This led to him getting a swat on the leg from Camp Director Juju, getting in to a knock-down-drag-out fight with Brooklyn in which Elijah was taken over by Satan. This is what he does. I think he's really too smart for his own good. Brooklyn will do something to annoy and anger him, he'll (for the most part) ignore her and leave the room for a few minutes. Then, when she is doing something else, completely oblivious to him he will come back into the room, sneak up on her and just hit the snot out of her. You think I'm making this up - I could never do that. I've witnessed this myself, my mom called me and told me he did it yesterday morning, then while I was on the phone with her he did it again!! Mom had served them Mac and Cheese for lunch. Brooklyn is sitting in her chair in front of the tv and Elijah apparently wanted to sit there so he walks up behind her, hits her in the back of the head with his plate. When she starts crying and gets up to run to Juju he takes her chair. Mom asked him why he did that and his answer was he wanted to watch Diego! Seriously! I was a few seconds away from calling a Priest to preform an exorcism! Mom, trying her hardest not to laugh told me it was fine and its good for them. Whatever! She got on to Elijah and told him "I think you need to go back to bed" to which he responded, "Yes I do!". After a good, long nap he was fine. So I need to apologize to two people...To Katy: I'm sorry for how my son behaved - I thought I taught him better. To Sadie: for what your future seems to hold (you'll always have Brooklyn to sympathize with you, though. Here are some pics of the better part of the day (after his nap)...

They made cookies and Elijah was tasting his...

"Mmm, mmm, good"...

Mom said he is really good on the swing...

and he LOVES to jump on the trampoline...

They really do love each other (even though it looks like Brooklyn is forcing him to hold her hand)...
When my mom called me in the afternoon to tell me the day was going better I heard Brooklyn in the background say, "Juju, did you tell Erica Elijah hit me with his plate!?" Sorry Brook.
In other news:
Tuesday I worked in Elijah's room so it would be all finished for him when he gets home tomorrow. Yesterday I did Sadie's room and today I'm going to work a little bit in our room. I also got talked into going to Camp with Beau next week! They called yesterday and said something happened to the nurse (she probably went crazy) and they were desperate for a nurse since they can't have camp without one. So since this is probably the only time I'll be able to go with him I said yes. He's always asked me to go, but I would have had to take a week of vacation to go to camp and that's not a vacation. So I said yes, and now I'm trying to talk myself into not talking myself out of it. I just think it'll be interesting taking the kids to camp. I can totally see myself trying to treat a kid while nursing Sadie! Oh well. Better go. More later.

Camp Juju - Day 1

Yesterday was Day 1 of Camp Juju. Papaw had the day off so the kids got to enjoy a big breakfast...

Elijah found a baby lizard on their first walk in the yard. He told my mom he was "going to go find it's Mama" and "Brooklyn, don't kill it"...

Standing in front of their masterpieces...

They spent the afternoon at Fossil Rim Wildlife Park...

Elijah enjoying his Peanut butter and Jelly Sandwich at lunch...

And for dessert, a Push Pop!

The day apparently went pretty well, no major blowouts.

Just me and my girl

Well I took Elijah to Camp Juju last night. I actually met my mom, dad and Brooklyn (the other camper) in Meridian (half way) for dinner. It was interesting. Elijah and Brooklyn love each other (Brooklyn may love Elijah more though). Elijah loves having some one to play with, he's just not quite used to some one as full of life as Brooklyn (we're pretty boring around here). She is so funny. Some of the highlights of dinner:

1. Brooklyn yelled at Elijah and Mom said, "Brooklyn, now we've talked about yelling, we don't yell at people. Does your mom yell at your house?" Brooklyn: "Yes she does, sometimes she yells loud and sometimes she yells softly"

2. Brooklyn burped in Elijah's face and I said "Brooklyn, don't burp in people's faces, that's not very princess-like". So from then on any time she bothered Elijah he would say, "Brooklyn, stop that - its not princess-like!"

3. Brooklyn and I went to the bathroom and I said, "Brooklyn, are you and Elijah going to be good at Juju's house?" She said "yes", I said, "you just can't get in Elijah's face so much, he doesn't really like that" she said, "I don't know why I do that!"

She cracks me up!

So its just me and my girl. Last night she got a bath in a real tub - her first from me! Its usually in the sink or in the shower with me. It was great. I used special soap and she even soaked for a while, just enjoying a girly bath. Then a massage with special bedtime lotion...she was so confused!

I snapped these pics yesterday afternoon...

Oh my!!! I could just scoop her up and eat her with a spoon!!!

This is how she sleeps. If you ask my mom she'll tell you its how I slept as a baby. If you ask Beau he'll tell you its how I sleep now!

However, this is totally Beau's face when he's asleep!

I love my girl so much!! Today we've worked in Elijah's room. I want to have it all done when he gets home. We also made a much needed trip to HEB. Later tonight we're going to Beau's parents' for dinner to celebrate Frankie's birthday. Happy Birthday Pepaw!!

'Cation Bible School

Elijah and Sadie went to Vacation Bible School - or 'Cation Bible School - as Elijah called it. They loved it. Even Sadie sat in her class in her little Bumbo.

Listening to the great singing...

Beau is such a great leader. The kids LOVE him. Here he is teaching them a song called "Jesus is the Winner Man" it also says "Satan is the Loser Man" and I couldn't resist snapping this pic...

Elijah was concentrating so hard on trying to make a "W"with his hands...

I think Sadie really liked Kristin's singing...

Elijah and Maddie were in Aimee's class. She had so many great activities planned. Here is Elijah coloring with chalk - one of his favorite pass times...

Elijah's most favorite part is definitely the puppets. Here he is calling the puppets...
They have a whole host of puppets, but everyone's favorite is Blueberry (he's huge).
This one really makes me laugh. Here he is after the puppet show "Is that it?"...

Elijah and Maddie loved getting to spend time together...

Elijah being a goof infront of his door...

At the cookie party he picked a M&M cookie and tried to eat all the M&M's off first...

Sadie watching the movers on Friday...

She gave up...too much to handle.

Elijah and Grant playing before we had to leave Saturday. Elijah says they're "Favorite Buddies"

Update on Elijah

Well, this morning I decided to call the MD. Elijah hadn't been wetting his diaper more than 3 times a day and she had told me to call her if he wasn't. She wanted us to come right in. Beau and Sadie came with us this time. They took blood - he didn't like that, and they wanted to get a urine sample. That is not easy when you have a toddler who's not potty trained. Lets just say there was a plastic bag with a hole in it that was sticky. He had to wear it while we went and ate lunch waiting for the blood work to come in. He was very uncomfortable, but we made it thru. After lunch Elijah and I went back to the doctor and Sadie and Beau went home to meet the Time Warner people who were at our house waiting on us. I explained to Elijah we were going back to the doctor to take the bag off his peepee. He broke down and was yelling, "I don't want the doctor to take off my peepee!" He was really nervous since I couldn't make him understand that we were only removing the bag. Anyway, he did great (got 2 suckers) but we're still waiting on some of the labs. So far everything looks okay so she let me bring him home. We'll watch him for the rest of the day and tomorrow and hopefully he'll get back to normal. He seems okay...a little more whiny and clingy than normal, but otherwise okay.

In other news it does seem that the whole "Elijah staying in bed until I come get him" thing is over. He got up yesterday morning and came to our room. He had thrown up in his bed so I contributed it to that. Well this afternoon he keeps coming out of his room during his "nap". Right now he's knocking at his his door because he wants out. Well, it was good while it lasted. Let me know if you have any tricks to keep him down for a nap. Now I'll work on a new blog - with pictures.

We're Here! (or There to some of you)

Well, we got to Robinson on Saturday afternoon. It was a LONG drive - as usual - but we made it. We had to call when we got close to town to get directions to our own house. We got it just a few days before moving and didn't even know where it was really. Oh well. I haven't found my camera yet so all you get today is this pic taken on my phone when we arrived. That's my mom waving. I have a lot to blog about, but will wait till I find my camera. I'm not even supposed to be able to get online yet. The cable people are coming on Thursday, but last night I plugged in the computer and I'm able to "borrow" some one's wireless Internet. So if any of you are my new neighbors..."Thank you"

Things have been really stressful for the last week or so. Elijah started getting sick on Thursday, but I contributed it to either something he ate or stress. The movers came on Friday morning earlier than they were supposed to (so I missed the last day of VBS) and said they were going to deliver our stuff to Robinson early Saturday morning. It wasn't supposed to be delivered until Saturday afternoon. Thank God for Janice, though. She came to Robinson on Friday evening and did our walk-thru, got our keys and met the movers the next morning. However, the movers called late Friday night and said they were at our house in Robinson and no one was there to let them in. WHAT! They said they would have to get a hotel and made it sound like we would be charged. You better believe I was on the phone with customer service Monday morning and that guy may not have a job now. Then...my car was supposed to be fixed by Friday evening. I went and sat at the shop for 2 hours...nope...not fixed yet. Then we get to Robinson and all the sweet church people just about have us all unpacked. They brought us dinner too. Oh, but of course its 100+ outside and somethings wrong with the air conditioner. Oh, and Elijah's still sick. We spent Sunday with our families, spent Monday unpacking, Tuesday Elijah has now added throwing up to his "bathroom sickness". I have no idea about doctors or urgent care centers or anything. I don't have Internet or even a phone book - I'm not even sure where I live. My dad must have sensed I was troubled and called. He helped me find an urgent care center, but they don't take kids under 3 - of course they don't. I did talk the receptionist into helping me find a pediatrician though. I called and got the first appointment with the first MD available. I had to drive to the other side of Waco to get there though. But I really liked her and found out that they're moving close to us in October. But I have to get a stool sample and take it back to her today. Then this morning he woke up and got out of bed (never done that before) and Beau went to his room and discovered he had thrown up all over his bed. And my washer and dryer don't work yet! Had enough yet?? I'm taking it all in stride, though. This happened when we moved to Alvin too. In the first few days we were there Beau got into a fight with a giant weenie-dog sized cockroach, got struck by lightening, my car broke down on the side of the freeway and it rained every day. So there you go. I'll post more when I find my camera.

Ever again?

There are some things I seem to have given up when becoming a mother. Now don't get me wrong...I would never trade any of these things for my kids, but if I could have them and my kids I think that would be a great day.

1. Will I ever get to finish a cup of coffee while its still hot again?
2. Will I ever get to take a hot shower again without any kids in with me or with anyone waiting on me to get out?
3. Will I ever get to go thru a day without wiping poop or sucking snot (not my own) again?
4. Will I ever get to sleep uninterrupted until I want to get up?
5. Will I ever get to go thru a day being asked 100+ times where we're going, what we're doing, who we're going to see (when I've already answered)?

6. Will I ever HAVE to go thru a day without having Elijah telling me he loves me infinity, giving me kisses, holding my hand, or sitting in my lap; or Sadie giving me the sweetest smiles that seem to say "I love you"...I hope not.

Forever Friends

Well, this is about 3 blogs in one. I am taking a break from my notebook full of stuff to do before we leave. I am so overwhelmed by the amount of things we have to do before we move that I have pretty much given up. We finally have an address to move into, I've had the utilities turned on and I've done the stuff that HAS to be done. The things left on my list are mostly things that it would be really nice to have done. I have one box packed. If you don't know, we are having movers come on Friday morning to pack us. All I apparently have to do is open the door. However, I have packed one box containing our DVD's, Wii, and PS2. I'm trying to spend our last days here with friends instead of worrying about what needs to be done. It'll all workout (even if it means I have to go without sleep). Moving on...

Sunday morning Bible class starts at 9:30am. Every week since Sadie's been born feeding time is somewhere between 9a and 10a. Well, this last Sunday it just worked out that she ate early so she was able to go to Bible class on our last Sunday here. Everyone was impressed at the 3 month old sitting up in a Bumbo chair...

After church we joined the Scogin/Spencer families for our last lunch together at Aimee and Gary's. We snapped a family pic just before changing the kids out of their nice clothes...

My sweet, sweet babies...

Three Amigos...

Tuesday, Beau and Gary surprised Aimee and I with a massage. (When I say "surprise" I mean we hinted VERY heavily and they fell for it). We went to Massage Envy in Pearland where they had a couples room so we could get our massages together. I announced, much to Aimee's displeasure, that we were a couple, Aimee was having my baby and we were celebrating our anniversary. Aimee very quickly told them the truth which made the rest of the time much less fun. Oh well. We came home, de-greased (not together) in the shower and all 4 met up to go out and celebrate Aimee's birthday. We went to Berry Hill for Mexican food (Fish Tacos!! YUM), played putt putt and then stopped for Gelato. It was great. We had a lot of fun.

After seeing the above picture I will no longer be wearing that shirt as I look 3 city blocks wide. Yes, I know...very vain.

See how Beau's shirt is wet? We talked him into doing bumper boats. He didn't want to because he said he would get wet. We convinced him he wouldn't...the picture shows who was right.

As part of Aimee's birthday present I got her this Willow Tree Figurine. Its called "Sisters by Heart" which is what we've always called ourselves every time we've been asked if we're sisters. I was so shocked when I found it! It's perfect. They come apart and we each keep a half.

Okay, I'm going to bed. I just wanted to blog. I may not be able to for a while. Our cable/Internet won't get connected until next Thursday so unless I get time this week or get to blog somewhere else it may be a while.

"Happy Pendance Day!"

That is what Elijah went around telling everyone on Saturday..."Happy Pendance Day!" We had a good day. The kids and I went to the gym on Saturday morning and Beau worked in the yard. We came home...did some work around the house, the kids and I napped and then we went to the Morris' for the annual celebration with the youth and their families.

Before we left I took some pics of Sadie in her "First 4th" shirt...

And as you know...Elijah couldn't be left out of a picture...

As soon as we got there Elijah and Beau went straight into the pool. I would have loved to go swimming, but I couldn't find my suit. I'm sure no one was upset. I'm positive the deep purple stretch marks, cellulite and leaky boobs would have had everyone racing to get out. Oh well...

We had a great feast of hamburgers, hot dogs and cheese puffs out of a huge barrel (job security)! Once the firework show started Elijah sat on the propane tank to watch...

By this time Sadie was exhausted (and so was Elijah) so we didn't get a family picture. I did, however get one of me with my boy...

And me with my man...though he can't not squint when the flash goes off...

Too cute...

Elijah would wave at every firework and yell "hi firework, whatcha doin firework?"...

We had a great time...Thanks to the Morris Family for having us all again! You never know...we may crash your party next year! (If there are cheese puffs from a barrel!)
I'll try to blog more later. We've had a busy weekend and I think this week will be the busiest on the record books, but I'll try to take some time to blog. In other news, congrats to Carl and Jennifer on the birth of their first baby today!! A girl, Presley!
