I know these are repeats, but....

I know these are repeats, but they are just so cute. He loves to push around his new toy (score 1 for mom) and he loves to wear Beau's hat. I think its not so much Beau's hat as it is anything Beau does. He wants to be just like his dad. Beau just has to walk in the room and Elijah lights up and starts laughing. They are best buds!!

He'll be walking soon

I got Elijah a new toy today. I saw a commercial for it. He can push it around to help him learn to walk and then it turns into a car he can ride. He has a lot of fun with it.

This is not a sneer. You can only know what he's doing if you've seen it in person. He does some kind of snorting thing. My parents said I did it all the time when I was a baby. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it's really cute.

VBS

Elijah got to go to Vacation Bible School this year!! The lady who teaches his Sunday School class taught his VBS class. She is amazing. She sings the entire class. Elijah loves it.

I'm not sure why Elijah is not in a chair like the rest of the kids. I guess he just felt like standing today. He is definately more interested in his gold fish than some stupid turkey.

So I Think He Can Dance

Elijah is starting to dance! I obviously can't post a picture of it and I don't know if I can post video. It is too cute. Maybe you'll be able to see it in person. He's got rythm! Sorry Dad, but he might just be a Stinkerette! :)

Beau's been playing with my camera

I found these on my camera this morning after Beau went to work. I guess the boys were playing this morning!

Too cute!

My small business

Okay, here's the deal. I am trying to find a way to spend more time at home with Elijah and still be able to get by financially. I have been thinking about trying to start a small business. I looked into making a website, but it cost money monthly and since I have not had any income yet I don't have the money to start one so I'm starting with you. My business would be

"Brides, Bellies and Babies" Special Gifts by Erica

I will specialize in gift baskets for weddings/showers (Brides), pregnancy (Bellies), and baby showers (babies). My main focus, however will be Diaper Cakes. Here are a few pictures of diaper cakes. This size would be $150 it had about 200 diapers and 4 layers and a med size cake would be $85. There are options to choose. Such as: you may chose the color (blue, pink, yellow, green). You can choose from themes if you want such as Bath Time (which would have things such as bath toys, wash cloths, soap etc), or Dinner Time (which would have baby food, spoons, bibs, etc) Fun in the Sun (sunglasses, shoes, toys, etc) More customized themes may cost extra. For example, if the nursery theme is Winnie the Pooh or Barnyard and you want the cake to have that theme I would have to let you know how much the cake would be. Otherwise you can choose "The Original" diaper cake which would be like the one in the pictures which is colored the way you want, but has a mixture of "ornaments". If you decide you want a cake we can talk about this all more. These cakes make a great centerpiece and are also a good hostess gift. It will come on a cake board that doesn't show. The mom's usually like to keep the cake displayed in the nursery or at their home, but it comes apart easily so they can use the "ornaments" and the diapers. I also do diaper wreaths which one is shown in the picture (sorry I can't find a better picture). The wreath has about 10-20 diapers on it depending on the size and I can give you more info on those if you want. They run from $25 to $50. The only other thing I ask is that if you choose to buy one of my cakes you take some business cards of mine to the shower to have by the cake to help me further my small business. If anyone is interested in any of this please let me know. Sorry I don't have more picture "examples" as I do more I will post them. If I ever get any requests I will try to make a website. For now, please pass this along to anyone you know.

Elijah's First Day at the Beach

The church had a Luau at Quintanna Beach on Saturday. We took Elijah for his first trip to see the ocean. Luckily it was overcast. He was very interested in everything he had to look at. He ate large amounts of sand and never seemed to be bothered by the taste. He had a great time and was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. Thanks to Aimee (our official photographer) for all the great pictures.

So much to see

"This feels funny"

This is my favorite. He is always thinking. I can't wait to find out what he's wondering about.

"It keeps getting closer"

This boy has no fear! He chases the vacuum cleaner and now he is going deeper and deeper. I kept having to get him and bring him back. This no fear thing really bothers me!

Veggie Tales

I don't know if y'all remember the pictures of Elijah watching Veggie Tales a few months ago, but this is how he likes to watch it now.

Madeleine spent the night again last night. We were actually up all night with Elijah and Madeleine slept almost all night. Go figure. I was just playing with her and taking pictures. I thought this was a cute one. However, as you can tell I won't be giving up my nursing career to be a photographer.

Independence Day

We had a great time at the Scogin's for the 4th of July. They have really been our "family away from home" always including us when we would otherwise be lonely. We had a fantastic lunch, played some really fun games (I actually won one) and just loved being together. Here are some pictures from the day.

Elijah's first time in the pool. It was cold, but we really wanted to get in! He loved it once he got the hang of it.

We're supposed to bathe him?

I was at the hospital last night hanging out with Melissa and I don't remember what we were talking about, but she asked how Elijah takes a bath. I told her when he was little he would just shower with me. Once he could sit up by himself we used his tub and he loved it. He would splash and kick and play until I made him get out. Now that he can stand up its been a little more difficult because he wants to stand up in the bath tub and he always slips and falls. After my surgery I had to soak a lot in the tub (my makeshift sitz bath) and he loved to get in with me. That's what we did the Friday before I went to Stephenville. Over the weekend he showered with Pawpaw and Monday night we washed him up in Mandy's sink. We flew back on Wednesday and he took a shower with Beau on Thursday when he got home. So I realized, in telling this to Melissa, that he went from Monday to Thursday with no bath. Then it hit me that I couldn't remember bathing him since Thursday! It was Tuesday!! Almost a whole week. In my defense I explained that he doesn't really get dirty and he doesn't spit up. I guess I hadn't thought about it (he didn't stink!). I rushed home to wash my child, but he was already in bed. I started to tell Beau when he explained he had realized the same thing today and gave Elijah a bath before bed. Beau saves the day!! I was a little surprised he bathed him since Beau's response to my asking him to bathe Elijah the first time was "I don't know how to bathe him!" I lovingly said, "just pretend you're bathing yourself and do all the same things!". I'll try to take pics of our rainy 4th. I've got to go now Elijah is chewing on a dirty diaper! I don't call poison control for that do I?
