Weekend of Fun!

I was talking to my mom over the weekend and pointed out that I have seen my family for the last 3 weekends and will see them for the next 3 weekends! Just one more reason I love living here.

Friday night Frankie and Janice came over for dinner. For dessert Beau went out to the garden and picked a watermelon....

If you live in this area and like watermelon it was really easy to grow. We planted one seed and have harvested about 10 or so and have more still growing!

Saturday afternoon we left to go to the Rangers Game. Beau had to drive the van with some youth kids in it and Elijah finally got to ride the van with all the guys. He is always asking if he can ride in the van and he has never been allowed to. Well, this time, I was leaving later than everyone else so we let Elijah ride in the van. He was so excited, but what did he do? Slept! Ha!

Before the game there was a Mercy Me concert. Sadie and I missed it. I was a little upset I missed it until I got there and saw that they had sat in the blazing sun for almost 2 hours!!

While they were at the concert I took Sadie to my mom's condo. Mom and Dad offered to keep Sadie during the game so we could stay as long as we wanted and Sadie wouldn't be miserable. Then I went to park for the game. It was so funny, I parked in one of the stadium's parking lots, but picked on a little further from the gate so I could just pay $10 instead of $15 or $20. After leaving the game, walking to my car and then driving to my mom's condo I realized I parked closer to the condo than I parked to the stadium! That's how close the condo is! Ha!

This was Elijah's first baseball game. He and Beau were so excited! They both started off with a hot dog, of course.

"Is something going on down there on the field?"...

"Nope. Back to the hot dog"...

My precious boys...

Where's Waldo...um...I mean...Elijah? He's right in the middle of all the guys...

Then Ariel gave him some of her Strawberry Lemon Chill....

Then, some one gave him a huge tub of popcorn...
After that he said, "Mom, my tummy really hurts!" I bet!

The kids and I spent Saturday night in Arlington then got up with Mom and Dad and went to Uncle Zac's church.
Sorry this picture is so blurry. I am a bad photographer. I have an old camera. Sadie never quits moving. I did want to get a picture of her in this precious pillowcase dress from JoCarol! She got lots of compliments!...

Playing on Uncle Zac's iPhone while waiting on our lunch...

After lunch Mom and I went to Linsie's baby shower (where I was too busy to get any pictures). Sunday night the kids and I drove home, exhausted! It was quite an ordeal to get Elijah to leave his Pawpaw. He fell asleep less than a block down the road after leaving. He woke up just a few miles from home and immediately started bawling and saying, between sobs, "I miss Pawpaw! I just love him so much!!" The only way I could get him calmed down was to call Pawpaw and let Elijah talk to him. It was actually really cute.

Are you ready for this!!??

There are a bagagle of posts below....

First Day of School 2010

Today was one of the best days of the year...the first day of school! Love. it.

First of all. The haul. This is all the stuff they had to take to school today!

Okay, this picture looks like I'm sending them to the Preschool for the Mentally Impaired but its actually because they are both yelling "cheese!!"...

That's a little better...

Let me just tell you about this little stinker. She is the youngest student at the preschool this year. She was so excited this morning. BTW the dress was made by the very talented Aimee Scogin! Thanks Aimee!!

And this little darling...

Getting their backpacks on...

She was running to the truck and I was running behind her...I'm glad that's not on video...

I made her stop to take one last picture...she was so ready to go!
Yes, that's her lunch and yes, it's almost as big as she is.

I went back inside after they left and got dressed, by myself. Then I went and ran a TON of errands (by myself). Its amazing how much you can get done in 5 hours with not kids!!! I was gone the whole time!! I'm looking forward to Tuesdays!!

Kickin' it church picnic style

This weekend was our Annual Church Picnic. It was hot, but we had a great time.

We had a great fajita dinner...

Played some games...

Played on the playground and lead around Mrs Jackie...

Then it was snow cone time!...
Elijah's fake smile...
Mmmm....

Stinker...

I'm not sure if she got any in her mouth, but she loved it!

Showers, showers and more showers

Almost 2 weeks ago I went to Stephenville to help my mom host a shower for my cousin Jenni, then last weekend we went to Stephenville for Zac and Heather's shower, then this weekend the kids and I will be in Dallas for Linsie's baby shower!! 3 weeks in a row!!

Since Beau went with me last week he kept the kids at my parents' house while I went to the shower at Jannie's. After I got there I saw there were quite a few other babies there so I had him get Sadie dressed and bring her so I could "show her off" and he could have some time to swim with the boys. Having Sadie there meant I didn't get any pictures of anything except her!

My cousin Ethan and Sadie (he is one month older)...

I love how she has her arm around him. I love that she accessorized with the necklaces as soon as we got there. I love his big blue eyes.

I guess she sent the wrong message by putting her arm around him, because his next move was to lean in for a kiss. Guess he knows a cute girl when he sees one!...

Then Sadie wanted to take a picture with me. She comes and backs into me and says "eese!"
Then, Cami, not wanting to be left out wanted one too...

And of course...

The major thing that happened this weekend was Elijah almost drowning. While eating dinner outside Friday night Elijah (who knows why) got into the pool. My dad looked over to see him struggling to stay above water (and not being successful) and jumped in, with Beau right behind him and pulled Elijah out. He hadn't taken in any water. We had actually been working, earlier in the week, on him putting his head under and holding his breath. He told me Sunday that he just forgot he didn't have his lifejacket on. Then he said he didn't want to talk about it any more. We were all pretty shaken up!

Meet the Teacher Night 2010

Thursday night I raced out of work to meet Beau and the kids for Meet the Teacher Night at their preschool. We snapped a few pics, let them see their classrooms and, of course, meet their teachers.

Sadie was not so sure about this in the beginning...

"I have one question for you...do you have snacks?"...

"Okay, I guess this will work out"....

Elijah already knew his teacher...he's been talking about being in Mrs Sherry's class ALL summer!

I see a new tradition forming!!!

Last year Aimee and the boys came to visit the week Gary went back to school. They decided to come again the same wee this year. Do I hear another tradition forming?? They came on Monday and they were able to stay 4 days!! We were all exhausted by Thursday, but we had a great time!!

A friend from church let us use her minivan all week so we could all fit in one car. While I vacuumed and cleaned my car Aimee caught Sadie and Grayson sharing a few sweet moments...

Don't you just love how his little hand is resting on her shoulder!...

He looks a little stunned...Maybe he's never had a cute redhead kiss him!...

This was the view from our seats in the minivan. We were on our way to the Y. Aimee and I did a Zumba class (like we used to do together) while the kids played and then we all went swimming and had a picnic. Such fun!!..

Thursday afternoon after all the naps we played outside. It was so hot, but our backyard is completely shaded so it was actually pleasant.

Sadie having a snack, of course...

Elijah being his silly self...

Our new cat Bahgeera (from the Jungle Book)....

Grant apparently loves cats just as much as Elijah...we credit Bibby for that!...

Elijah and Grant enjoying the tire swing...

My girl would sit in that swing all day if we would let her...even if she's not swinging...

Has there ever lived a more precious baby?

Elijah helping out with the pushing so Aimee and I could rest. Such a good boy...

Wednesday morning we decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was incredibly humid, but we still had a good time...

After feeding the fish, above, my camera died and Aimee didn't have hers.

More of the same Wednesday afternoon, then church, then home to bed. Thursday morning I had to get up and leave for work, but Aimee and Beau got the kids ready and Aimee was able to get a picture of them all 4 together...

Just a little proof to show you how much kids change in 6 months...

We're already planning next year's trip (but we're also planning a trip before then with no kids!!)!
