Sadie's Minnie Birthday

My girl turned 3! She wanted a Minnie Mouse birthday party. Here's how it went...
The food table...

The cake. It was lemon cake with lemon buttercream on top and strawberry with jam between the layers and a cream cheese frosting on bottom. Pretty yummy!

All the food was "Minnie" themed...

Got the cupcake ideas from Pinterest!

Yes, I made my own pinata! I am too cheap to spend $20 on something that's going to get torn up in a few minutes. It was really easy and cost maybe $3...maybe.

My birthday girl...who did not want to quit playing long enough to take a picture!

"Can I go play now?"...

The pinata was really funny. I had a dream a few nights before that Sadie hit it and it completely fell apart. Not so much. After each kid hit it about 3-4 times I finally had to take a pocket knife to it...let them hit it some more and then had to break it open! Ha! I guess I made it a little too well!

Can you see the kids are wearing Minnie Mouse ears...

I didn't get any pics of Sadie blowing out her candles because I got a video...here's the link...

She didn't so much understand to wait till the end to blow out the candles...oh well.
Opening a few gifts...

Thank you Aunt Sharon!!
Maci and Sadie playing Minnie and Daisy Tic Tac Toe...

Sadie must have taken this picture of Elijah. He was concentrating very hard on making his candy necklace...
We had a great day! So much fun celebrating my girl!

Play Ball!

Saturday was Elijah's first t-ball game. He was SO excited...and so was I. He looks so darn cute I can hardly stand it!!

He started the game out as catcher. He didn't get much action because the coaches usually told the kids to throw the ball to first every time. But he did a great job of going up to the plate after every bat and waiting for a ball to be thrown home.

He was the first one on his team to bat....
It took him a couple of swings (he hit the tee the first time or two) but he got off a good hit....

Running to first. He has such a unique run. He runs bow-legged, but has a nice, long stride. Although, his upper body seems to slow him down. He has his elbows out and has a slight twist going on, but man....so cute!!
By the way...that kid's head is huge...his helmet fits me!
I LOVE the way he stands and waits. Hands on hips...he looks so serious!
But still takes time to turn and sneak a peek at Mama...
Rounding second...
Beau had to give him a talk after this run that he doesn't have to hold on to his helmet when he runs...it's not going to fall off.

Getting some tips from his 3rd base coach...

Running home...
This is what my girl did the whole game...
I think she is upset no one is paying her any attention...

Lining up after the game...
Good job, good job...

They gave away a game ball. I was not a fan of this. Elijah keeps talking about how "Stephen got the game ball because he played the best." I keep telling him, "No, Stephen got the game ball because it was his turn." If every kid doesn't get a game ball they will be hearing from me...its t-ball for crying out loud!
"Goooo Rays!"
It was great fun to watch. Next time I'll get a video!

Farm livin is the life for me...

Last week we spent the afternoon learning about animals. It was Elijah's kind of day. We stopped by our friends, The Weatherbys to check out their new kittens.

Pretty cute...I felt for the mama cat, though.

Then we went to our second stop. On of the girls in the youth group raises show goats. She had recently acquired to kids so we took our kids to see her kids...ha! I crack myself up.
Maci trying to catch one...

The girls quickly lost interest....

But found something else to be interested it...lemonade!
(and no, I did not pick out Sadie's clothes...that's all her)
We spotted a patch of bluebonnets and tried to get some shots of the girls. Did not go so well...

They get such a kick out of each other, though...

Such a mess...she kept wanting to lay down in the flowers...

I called Elijah over, but before we could try to take any pictures he had to show us his handful (literally) of rolly pollies...

Could. Not. Get. Anyone. To. Cooperate.

Notice he would not let go of the rollies...

Chow time!

Don't forget about this little man...

We decided we needed to stop for a snow cone on the way home...
Never a dull moment...
