Yabba Dabba Doo!!!

Buckle up, lots (and I mean lots) of pics coming at ya.

Elijah and Sadie had their Fall Party at school on Thursday. I had to work, but Beau snapped a few pics for me. However, my camera is still suffering from a virus and was not cooperating. All the pictures are blue. This one was just too good though, so I just made it B&W. She was decorating her cup cake after lunch...

Saturday after Sadie woke up from her nap we were about to get ready to go to a local Fall Festival and remembered we hadn't carved our pumpkins!! We kinda rushed through it. Elijah decided to paint his while Beau carved the other one...

My girl just wanted to take pics...

Not the best pic, but we were running out the door...

We went to the local First Baptist church for a Noah's Ark themed Fall Festival. It was awesome!! You walked into this giant ark (the doorway went into the classroom building). Each room was a different son of Noah and Noah himself telling the story of the Flood and such...

The decorations were top notch. Elijah wanted to take a picture by the tigers. While we waited to get in there were balloon artists (see his sword)....

Then we got cookies and punch and played some games...

The little cheater did not want to be left out...

Working on his swing...

"Its easier if you stand next to the hole!"...

Going fishing...

Playing a little washers...

cheating at washers (while never taking her hand off her sucker). She kinda stole the show all night, as you can imagine...

After collecting the candy and prizes inside we walked outside to get free hot dogs and then to the petting zoo where each child received a cup of food...

Then free pony rides!!!
This is the saddest thing. At the Fair they have a petting zoo, but we don't buy food and we don't do the pony rides, its just too expensive. At the Festival we were walking up to get on a pony and I told Elijah to pick out which pony he wanted to ride. He looked up at me and said
"I get to do a pony ride?"
Me: "yes".
Elijah: "It doesn't cost too much money?"
Me: "no"
Elijah: "Oh thank you, thank you!"
That's the only time I hate not being filthy rich. I know he won't even remember being told no and probably won't even remember riding this pony, but I just hate having to ever tell him no!

Finally, we watched "Mikey the Preforming Monkey"!! Seriously!! It was all free!! Elijah was in Heaven!!

Tonight our church family hosted a Trunk or Treat. This year we were the Flintstones...
(Beau's tie got folded up into the scrap material and forgotten. Boo. We still looked pretty cute!

Pebbles...

Bam Bam...

Fred and Pebbles...

Fred and Bam Bam...

This is Joel. He LOVES Sadie. They have the same birthday, but Joel is one year older. He is supposed to be in the class above Sadie, but refuses to move up. He says he has to stay with his best friend, Sadie. He is always hugging her and being so sweet..

Precious...

This was our trunk... We didn't have much time, but it was supposed to be our cave and the kids had to stick their hand in to get their candy...
Beau said it ended up looking more like Jesus's tomb and the stone rolled away!

When we got home I made Beau put his tie on so I could get a pic of his completed costume. He's just like one of the kids, can't take a normal picture...

We had a great weekend. Now what do I do to take up my time!?!

Going to the chapel...

Thursday we headed to Stepheville for Zac and Heather's wedding. Friday morning we had a bridal luncheon and spent the day preparing for the Rehearsal Dinner since it was going to be at Mom and Dad's house.

I have to show you pictures of the dinner because it was beautiful...

Sadie was a little leary of her flower girl gift...

Friday was cloudy, but perfect. Saturday, however, it poured all day long. Did I mention that the wedding was planned to be outdoors, in a field? It stopped raining about an hour or two before the wedding, but the orchestra wouldn't play outside, since it was still wet and the field was just too soggy. So it was moved inside to the reception hall. It was beautiful. Everyone was seated at the reception tables and an isle was made through the tables. They stood in front of these giant doors facing the sunset. Gorgeous.

My little flower girl (who did not want her picture taken)...

Our attempt at a family picture...

Oh yeah, by the way, I cut 10 inches off my hair on Thursday!

Goof...

Suspenders...yes, please...

The reception was super fun. The bridesmaids and groomsmen (who had been given top hats, gloves and canes) were announced and entered into the reception hall very regally...

Then broke into dance!! It was hilarious...

It was so funny to see what each couple did.

Then it was Zac and Heather's turn...

And of course, as soon as they broke out into dance, my camera died. Nice. It was great. We are so excited to officially have Heather in our family!

Who needs a check up?

This month Sadie turned 18 months and Elijah turned 4. Therefore, I took them both for their check ups. It started out fine...

Elijah now gets his blood pressure checked. Sadie, just wants to be involved in whatever is going on...

Also, a hearing check...
Stats:
Elijah
Height: 3 feet 5 1/2 inches...77%
Weight: 34 lbs...39%
Weight for Length: 10%
Sadie
Height: 32 1/2 inches...71%
Weight: 22 lbs...15%
Weight for length...7%

Then on to the exam room. Sorry this pic is blurry, the kids were playing a game. They would walk around and I would yell out a color. They would run and jump on that color. Even Sadie is pretty good at it...

Then Elijah took over the camera so I could talk to the nurse...

Then, of course, Sadie needed a snack...

That's where the fun and games ended. When the MD examined Elijah she saw that his ear drum had ruptured!! Seriously! He told me Sunday that his ear hurt, but that's all he said. The Dr said it had happened within the last 24 hours. She gave us antibiotics for that. Then it came time for shots. Elijah went first...5 shots and the Tamiflu mist. He was a mess. He was all over the place and screaming like he was on fire! Sadie got 2 shots. I had to carry them both out. Elijah started his antibiotics that night (Monday) and Sunday morning he had the rash again (Amoxicillin rash from 2.5 years ago). It has been non stop around here.

There is no theme I cannot conquer!

I may not need to make that claim until I know what Elijah wants to do next year! As you know, Elijah was adamant on his theme this year being Lake Animals. I will just say...I nailed it!

The cake. No one has ever said I am a talented cake decorator. Luckily 4 year olds think it looks great and the adults were just impressed with the jello lake!...

Lake Water...
Lake Waco water. You have no idea how proud of myself I was for coming up with this!...

Thanks to Katy for helping with the turtle...
Fish scales...

Alligator eggs...

Bait (dirt cake)...

The party favors included alligator pencils, lizards, goldfish crackers, frog suckers and fish straws...

I decided not to stress myself trying to come up with games. We just all sat outside and let the kids play on the "tree house" as Elijah calls it. I stole this picture from Janice. Sadie has NO FEAR. She climbs the ladder (fast) and jets down the slide. I love the look of determination in her eyes!...

Then it was time for cake...

Everyone singing. We tried to get all the kids in a picture, but that was like herding cats. This was about half. You have no idea the noise level goin on at this time!!

Make a wish...

Then we opened presents. This was interesting. In years past I would sit with Elijah while he opened his gifts. This year I just let him at it. All the kids were "helping" him. At one point a random child would open a gift, run over to Elijah and yell "look what you got!!"...

We had a great time. Everyone was really impressed that I was able to pull off the Lake Animal theme. I would do anything for this child, though, so it didn't seem like anything at all. I love Elijah beyond words. It is, however, going to take me weeks to get this house cleaned back up!!
