Tuesday we took a trip to the Houston Zoo with
MOM's club. There were only about 5 moms and 7 kids. It was miserably humid! Oh man was it soupy! We got there at 9:30am and immediately we were drenched with sweat. Oh yeah, and the power was out! And we didn't even get a discount. All the concession stands were closed (good thing we were with a group of
frugal stay-at-home moms and had all packed snacks, water and lunch) the indoor exhibits were closed (we had been counting on going into those places to cool down), and the
carousel and train weren't running! All that to say our stay was shortened, but we still
had fun.
Elijah and Amory looking at the "Cocks" (that's Elijah's word for "Hawks" but also goes for Parrots and other large, winged creatures)...
The kids all wanted to hold hands (Elijah loved it!). Ian, Elijah, Amory and
Priscilla...
Sadie would have much rather walked, but she was stuck in the
stroller...
Me and Elijah posing on the Seal
Elijah was really excited to see the
Giraffes. He kept yelling, "Hi Melvin!!" (If you watch "
Gascar" or
Madagascar as its usually referred to you know what he's talking about)...
Then I caught him trying to "go play with Melvin" so he said...
After lunch we let Grant and Elijah put on their suits and play in the water to cool off before heading home...
Aimee kept having to tell Elijah not to drink the water!
Elijah loves the Zoo. Maybe we should get a membership!
